GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA (May 11 2015) – Barre Forte, a unique fitness studio located at 4994 NW 39th Ave., Suite D, welcomes residents to try Barre—a beautiful blend of Pilates core work, yoga stretches, and ballet toning exercises. Starting Friday, May 15, Barre Forte offers several Barre classes seven days a week. Over the past decade, Barre studios have been popping up nationwide due to the fun atmosphere and lean, toned bodies resulting from Barre’s effective and efficient sculpting methods. Barre’s strategic, isometric movements targets women’s notorious “problem areas”—glutes, thighs, and stomach, in addition to lengthening and leaning the arm and leg muscles.
Barre Forte’s owner, Brinn Strange, recently moved to Gainesville from Hattiesburg, Miss., where she also opened the city’s first Barre studio. “With a town of this size, I was surprised that there was not already a studio dedicated to the phenomenal workout inherent of Barre classes—and I have made it my mission to change that!” Strange said. She will teach the majority of the studio’s Barre classes, but hopes to hire additional instructors after Barre Forte hosts a teacher-training workshop at the end of June. She plans to add additional classes in the coming months based on demand and client feedback. Classes are capped at twenty participants, guaranteeing that each client will receive individual instruction in an intimate setting. In addition to daily Barre classes, Barre Forte will also offer personal training through recent University of Florida graduate, Bianca Macias, a PTA Global Certified Personal Trainer and American Council on Exercise Certified Group Fitness Instructor
Barre Forte’s signature workout, “the body barre” is appropriate for most fitness levels, and instructors will offer modifications and progressions throughout class. “The beauty of Barre is that the workout has no impact on your joints and light hand weights are held away from the body—to encourage lean muscle rather than bulk. We can’t wait to watch as participants achieve their fitness goals,” Strange adds.
For Strange, local resident and long time health enthusiast, the opportunity to teach Barre in Gainesville is a dream come true. She has been teaching a variety of group fitness formats for the past seven years. “I have been taking group fitness classes since I was allowed to walk through the doors,” said Strange. “I have always enjoyed the community of group classes combined with the motivation of inspiring instructors and high-energy music, and that is exactly what I am committed to offering each participant that comes to Barre Forte.”
Barre Forte offers individual classes at a drop-in rate of $20, or participants can purchase a class package or monthly-unlimited specials. Currently, Barre Forte is offering all new members a free week trial. Clients are encouraged to call ahead or schedule classes online in advance to reserve his/her spot.
