GAINESVILLE, FL- For the first time since its 1923 inception, the Gainesville Fine Arts Association (GFAA) has opened a permanent art gallery.
The GFAA Gallery is located at 1314 S. Main St. in Gainesville. The GFAA Gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday and will host a reception and art show on the last Friday of each month during Gainesville Artwalk.
In addition to serving as an open-to-the-public art gallery, the new space will host GFAA meetings, workshops and demonstrations that will embody GFAA’s mission to foster and encourage the study of the arts.
The GFAA Gallery space was donated by April and Scott Schroeder, who own the full-service marketing agency Liquid Creative. Liquid Creative has offices in the building as well.
“The GFAA Gallery will celebrate and promote the creative expression of Gainesville and North Florida artists, from emerging to established artists, and introduce them to the community and beyond,” said Alfred Phillips, GFAA Gallery director. “Our goal is to be inclusive, instruct, inform and inspire. I see us as a corner stone and significant addition to the South Main Street art scene and a contribution to the quality of life in Gainesville.”
