5 Decorating Tips for This Year’s Tree
Use these helpful tips from the professional design elves at Keith Watson Events to create a one-of-a-kind tree that expresses who you are.
It’s that time of year again! Time to string lights and get creative to truly make your tree the staple of your home for the holidays. Your tree should represent you and the personality of your family. Use these helpful tips from our professional design elves to create a one-of-a-kind tree that expresses who you are.
1. Be a Design Rebel
It’s 2016 — sticking to what’s traditional is a thing of the past. Don’t be afraid to be an individual and create a tree that has its own special character. Play with fun patterns and bright colors. Bring your décor aesthetic into the design and create a look that is truly reflective of who you are.
2. Pop of Color
Using a bold pop of color is a great way to create a strong visual impact with your tree’s color scheme. Pick a color palette that accents your home décor and then add an unexpected, yet complimentary color to be the star of the show. Don’t be scared of color! Just make sure to balance the color throughout and watch the magic happen.
Planning for the holidays is crucial, especially when it comes to budgeting. Getting a designer look doesn’t have to mean breaking the bank. Get creative and use your available resources to create custom pieces that have your personal touch. Something as easy as grabbing pinecones from the yard and accenting them with designer glitter can take your tree to the next level and give you that high-end look you’re looking for.
4. Rose Gold is the New Black
Doing a little bit of research can go a long way to create a truly buzz-worthy look. Take in inspiration from fashion trends, magazines, interior design, pop culture, whatever you like — the possibilities are endless! Rose gold made a striking entrance as the new “it” metal this year, so why not introduce it in your holiday décor? Rose gold paired with bronze or copper tones (the other favorite metals of 2016) makes for a stunning look.
5. Silk Flowers are Back
One of the newest Christmas tree trends are silk flowers. Using the right combination of sizes and colors will help fill void spaces in the tree and bring that beautiful, lush garden feel to any design. Try sticking to two or three types of flowers and in no more than two colors. Keep it simple in style and bring in other nature-inspired accents such as twigs, berry sprays, pinecones, or natural garlands to accentuate your natural inspired tree.
