The Crafty Bastards Restaurant and Pub is a local sports bar located at 4860 NW 39th Ave. The family-friendly pub, owned by Pat and Betty Brunson, opened eighteen months ago and has recently started serving breakfast.
The pair had always planned to do breakfast but wanted to grow as a company first, said Betty, adding that although the business is still young, it has been a great addition. “There’s not a whole lot of restaurants on this side of town to begin with, and even fewer that have breakfast,” she said.
Breakfast is served daily from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., and provides a great weekday option for people who want to call ahead on their way to work and take their breakfast to go, she said. There is a variety for all taste buds, including options like huevos rancheros, benedicts, breakfast burritos, chicken ‘n’ waffles, corned beef hash and biscuits with gravy.
For those with a sweet tooth, the “Sweet Starts” section of the menu offers everything from Belgian waffles, French toast and pancakes.
For the little ones 10-years-old and younger, there’s a special kids menu with a bit of everything offered in kid-friendly portions.
If you’re enjoying a weekend brunch, try mimosas by the bucket, or come in any day of the week and they’ll be happy to fill one up, Mrs. Brunson said.
Though it already serves 60 craft beers, Crafty Bastards also has a selection of wines and meads. Happy hour specials are available Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and all day Sundays.
In addition to their expansive breakfast and drink selections, the restaurant also offers weekly lunch specials from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and a host of entertainment options. Mondays are kids nights; children receive a free kid’s meal with the purchase of an adult meal. On Tuesdays, there’s trivia; Wednesdays offer karaoke; and live entertainment is featured Thursday and Friday. Crafty Bastards even offers packages when college football and NFL games are on. The restaurant also has an array of board games for families to choose from, if they wish to play. “They enjoy the interaction,” Betty said.
Crafty Bastards also gives discounts to first responders, military and Publix associates. If it’s your birthday, you will receive $15 off your meal with identification along with other coupons which can be found on the Gift Certificates and More app.
